Diamante Verde and Casa de Piedra

The first of our premier trekking destinations is “Diamante Verde”, (Green Diamond). This incredible jewel of the jungle is located in a beautifully, unique region of Costa Rica. The area, called Las Tumbas, was given its name due to the abundance of hollowed stones, once used by the indigenous peoples for grinding flour. Las Tumbas is surrounded by breath-taking ridges and natural beauty. The Diamante River flows through the heart of the valley. Two kilometers below its natural source, surrounded by 1,200 feet of cascading waterfalls, you will find the “Casa de Piedra” (House of Stone) or as the locals call it “The Cave”. This amazing open air cavern is set behind twin waterfalls and features a full size kitchen and comfortable sleeping quarters.

In order to arrive at “Casa de Piedra” you will experience a 1.5-2 hour hike amongst the pristine cloud forest and rainforest. The steep winding trails and spectacular pacific coastal views will invigorate your sense of adventure. Located in the heart of the Diamante Verde Reserve, you will arrive at the Stone Age dream house, once inhabited by indigenous people of the area. Guests will be greeted by our warm hospitality, great food and will have unique opportunities to renew their minds, body and soul.

The cave, tucked behind 85-foot twin waterfalls, is amongst untamed gardens of petrified palms, primary growth forest and an abundance of plants and wildlife.
Activities while at the cave include hiking to crystal swimming pools, cliff jumping, and exploring nearby trails! If you choose the overnight tour, at the end of the day you will fall asleep in comfort, surrounded by the sights and sounds of Mother Nature at her finest. Barú Tours at Santo Cristo Falls

Explore the unique Barucito river valley, decorated with beautiful bedrock formations and stunning natural terrain. Upon arrival at the falls guests can enjoy the breath-taking two-tiered waterfalls, said to be the most beautiful in Costa Rica. Everyone is encouraged to enjoy the expansive 20 foot deep natural pools, perfect for a day of swimming and cliff jumping!

This tour is set atop beautiful Baru Falls which has 2 different picturesque waterfalls ranging from 60 to 120ft. You can reach this location either by a 30-minute hike or by a one-hour horseback ride (recommended) along a panoramic ridge top into the valley below. Once at the falls, you are first trained on how to properly and safely rappel on a small training hill. After completion of this training, you begin your exciting 120 ft rappel down the face side of Barú Falls. Once you complete the rappel, there is a short hike to a spectacular viewpoint at the bottom of both waterfalls where there is a large natural 20ft deep swimming hole.

You then have the option to engage in a variety of activities listed below. The objective of this adventure tour is actually dual purpose.
